I got also i2c errors if the screen is normal and visible.
I have bootet today about 3 dozen times, and about 4 till 8 times it bootet
with screen enabled.
In the other cases I have to login via ssh but seeing also the i2c error (if I
did not messed things up today)
All what I can say additionally, that the screen flickers shortly and remains
darkgrey/black with backlight seen in background.</pre>
