Suspending or changing resolution doesn't cause flicker anymore, and it also seems to have fixed the ocassional one frame blackout I had before (which still happens on windows btw). I didn't need any extra configuration like Tom, it just worked out of the box. I'll let you know if something changes but it seems to be fixed on my system.
