[Intel-gfx] display stays turned off after lid reopen

Running 2.6.32-rc8
My laptop (Lenovo x200s w/ GM45) is configured to just turn of the
screen when closing the lid.
This used to work fine with 2.6.31
With the 2.632 rc's I rather frequently run into the following:

when opening the lid the display doesn't get turned on
sometimes I manage to type in the password (for the screensaver that I
can't see) and then suspend the system - and after resume things work
again. For some reason sometimes this fails (i.e., I can't make it past
the screensaver - don't know why as the screen is off)

The only thing I can see in the system log is this:

And here's what I find in the X server log

(II) ThinkPad Extra Buttons: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) Sleep Button: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) Video Bus: Device reopened after 1 attempts.
(II) Power Button: Device reopened after 1 attempts.

(this is a successful attempt where I sent the laptop to sleep and woke
it up again)

All this is with Fedora 12 and my own own kernels built from official
git trees.
