I am not sure whether it is similar to the issue on Radeon. On the boxes
mentioned in bug the driver can communicate with the SDVO device
correctly. But when we try to switch to the DDC1/DDC2/DDC3 bus behind
the SDVO device to get the EDID, we can read nothing.

try to use the GMBUS as the I2C bus to communicate with SDVO device. But
