I have a ViewSonic 1940w on the VGA output and a Dell FP193c on the VGA-1 output. The LVDS output is disconnected via xrandr. I am using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) with the standard xorg driver (2.1, I believe), I have a situation where my second monitor never produces a picture (usually a Dell fp193c). Xrandr correctly sets the CRTCs and as soon as the output is routed, the monitor "switches on" out of power-saving mode. (Xrandr also correctly detects the monitor and its capabilities and my mode settings are suitable for the hardware available.) However no picture is produced. I'm just trying out the Hardy Heron release now so haven't had time to see if any recent development in the driver fixes my issue; so pardon me if I'm a bit late with this. BTW, I've joined this community as a long-term thing (not just to get answers and then leave) as my employer has a general long-term aim using Intel h/w. I'm most interested in dual-head setups.
