It's better with OpenGL, but the darker the picture is, the more tears I have. You might try OpenGL based playback (like mplayer -vo gl). Here is the logs file, one for xvmc, the other one for xxmc. Sorry, I don't know what is fd.o, and I never posted a bug. I'll search and try to do it.
