I know the SWCursor option was removed some time ago, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Is there a way to force software cursor mode instead of hardware cursor?

I came across this "bug" and I wanted to see if this did the trick on the intel driver too. I'm running MythTV, and when I come out of suspend the cursor is right in the middle of the screen. If I click the mouse or alt+tab the keyboard, myth gets focus and the cursor hides again.
Could someone point me to the line in the code that could turn on the software cursor? I'm running 2.8.0.
