drm/i915: Add support for interlaced display.
This doesn't change the clock limits (minimums), i.e. it won't make it
output 720x576 PAL nor 720x480 NTSC, <font class="Apple-style-span" face="Monaco"><u>but it will work with modes like
1080i</u></font> etc. (including GLX and textured Xvideo, not sure about the
overlay).
Tested on i915 + analog VGA, it would be worth checking if newer chips
(and which ones) still support interlaced mode.</pre></span><div><br></div><div>but what I am not sure is if I can't make it work because of the intel drivers themselves or the kernel that I am using.</div><div><br></div><div><meta charset="utf-8"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif, verdana; font-size: 12px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 1px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 1px; "><u>My current setup:</u><ul><li style="font-size: 11px; ">kernel 2.6.35-02063504-generic</li><li style="font-size: 11px; ">intel 2.11.0-1</li><li style="font-size: 11px; "><a href="http://xabix.free.fr/uploads/xorg.conf">http://xabix.free.fr/uploads/xorg.conf</a></li><li style="font-size: 11px; "><a href="http://xabix.free.fr/uploads/Xorg.0.log">http://xabix.free.fr/uploads/Xorg.0.log</a></li></ul></span><div>Do you know why there is a gap between Chris comment and our implementation?</div></div><div>Where did you get the info about interlace support within Q3 release?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks</div><div>XabiX</div><div><br></div><div><div>On 10 sept. 2010, at 22:13, Lucas Burdick wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="WordSection1" style="page: WordSection1; "><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">Q3 refers to Quarter 3, and yes….we are almost there.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); "><o:p> </o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">The bug report thread for the interlaced modes is here:<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); "><a href="https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11220" style="color: blue; text-decoration: underline; ">https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11220</a><o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); "><o:p> </o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0in; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">If you read it, it shows that the patch has been added to drm-intel-next which I assume means it is ready for the next release.
