yes, u were right abt at-poke.glade2 being an xml file.. didnt
notice :D. Maybe you could try a simple "make" in the source directory
and running directly the src/at-poke binary and check.

also i tried removing the at-poke.glade2 file... the error i got was 

(at-poke:7630): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib

(at-poke:7630): Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers

** (at-poke:7630): WARNING **: initial 'DISPLAY=:0.0' target '(null)'

** (at-poke:7630): CRITICAL **: get_glade_xml: assertion `fname != NULL'
failed

** ERROR **: Can't find at-poke.glade2
aborting...

(gnome_segv:7631): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib

(gnome_segv:7631): Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers

NOTE: no "** (at-poke:5638): WARNING **: Unable to exec gtk-demo; check
your"... so i guess that is where your error lies in. Check if your
python-gtk module is installed propoerly.
