Thanks, Phil. Since I have a severe budget constraint, I thought of NSLU2.
After knowing your success with QNAP device TS-119, I have come down to
TS-110 (800MHz/256MB) - ordered in Amazon.

I believe this configuration should be enough for simple slide shows,
weather report and News update scroll which I am planning to display on
UM-70 monitor.
