when I try to run Ubuntu with the VGA display disconnected. It also puts up
the text "Failed to blah blah CRTC" or something like that, and then ends up
with the number "-22" at the end of the line.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I believe that X is trying to find the monitor, and
of course it can't -- BECAUSE I UNPLUGGED it!!! Of course, X can't have two
displays sharing a server. So...it also unloads the displaylink drivers (I wish
that it would just unload the INTEL drivers...) </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Maybe there is some way to disable the on-board
graphics entirely, using software. I wish that I could find some way to do this
-- so that at least I could test whether the displaylink driver works. I believe
that if we could find some way to do this, then we could all test the current
driver much more readily and easily.</FONT></DIV>
