Hi,

We, with Peter and Dave, are currently trying to fix the website issue.

I have already updated the forms for LGM 2012. When the website is up again, the registering form will be available. Also, we will have a form for submitting talks.

I completely support the idea of Ale being a "local" organiser as he's a bit free, speaks german and other languages too! :-) And, mostly, he knows LGM from the interior as he's been on the organising team for years now, remotely and locally.

I also offer to give a strong hand — at least with the website and with the sponsors. I can plan my trip to Vienna to be there a few days before LGM starts to help with the last details.

I wish that Nate and Jon can give a hand with the press releases and more if possible!

About money, we will start the new campaign with over 5K in the bank.

The pledgie campaign should be put on again this year with a 10K target starting in Feb.

We should try to get public funding from the EU provided we act fast.

The needs for covering travel fees are around 20K when in Europe.

I am in discussions with OIF. It is too early to tell whether they will help us again this year but we do have a good ear from them.

Same with Google.

We keep the logo as it is, only update the city and dates.

That's it for today !

Cheers guys !

Happy New Year to all of you !

Louis

2012/1/4 ale rimoldi <a.l.e@ideale.ch>
alexandre's email to the create list i feel that it's time to send it!)

dear LGMers,

happy new years everybody!

four months are left before the start of the next LGM in vienna!

first, there is the website problem.
i guess that the reason for the failure is related to the server having
been moved...
somebody will have to look at it... peter, would be the one who has
most chances to get it to work...
and then somebody will have to make sure that a site for 2012 gets
created and published.

but this was not my main concern.
for the first time, we won't have a local organizer for the LGM. my
question is whether we shouldn't have somebody among us "in charge" of
coordinating the efforts.

is anybody volunteering to do it?

personally, i don't have a need to take it on me, but since i'm
currently working 50% and can speak german i could envisage to do it.

generally speaking, it would also be a good idea to know who among us
will have time for the LGM and what he/she thinks he/she could do!
... and, then, eventually look for new people who could help out.

i'm waiting for your thoughts!

have a nice day!
a.l.e
