Hello Louis,<br>
<br>
You are right, this page is not accessible from the front page but I put a link to it in the confirmation e-mail to speakers. I ran this phrasing by you all some months ago on this list, and I haven't changed it since than.<br>
</blockquote><div><br></div></div><div>Yes, I know I read it. Nothing particular stroke my attention at that time. </div><div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">
<br>
However if you feel strongly about changing it now ... it's your call; I personally think it would be better if the phrasing could stay more or less the same, just to prevent confusion.<br></blockquote><div><br></div>
</div><div>No, really, I don’t feel strongly about changing this. Let’s avoid any confusion, especially for this matter. </div><div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">

We're part of a responsible community ;-) and I have not experienced any abuse of the LGM travel-fund (on the contrary, many people feel embarrassed to ask) but if any of that would happen, we can deal with it case by case? Also, I'd be happy to go over the requests with you in case you have doubts.<br>
</blockquote><div><br></div></div><div>Let’s do that, only to make sure everything is fine.</div></div></div></div></blockquote><div><br></div></div><div>I see the email for the reimbursement announcement has already gone out, great.<br>
</div><div>In the interest of transparency and fundraising, can we follow up this with a request that the people that request sponsorship describe how LGM was for them, what they did, who they connected with, any accomplishments etc..?<br>
</div><div>I think it is important that the people who have already sponsored, and those who may be willing to sponsor, get to know what exactly their money is used for.<br><br></div><div>Here is a proposed text, feel free to amend in any way necessary.<br>
</div><div>"We would appreciate if you would write a few sentences about your experience of this years Libre Graphics Meeting. Did you get any new perspectives? Did you meet any inspiring people? Did you get to discuss and solve problems not possible without being in the same room?<br>
Links to photos, blog posts or similar are also great. We plan to use this in a summary of this years event, to tell the world what LGM is about."<br></div><div><br></div></div>We could send similar requests out to the various teams, and individuals who have given talks/workshops.</div>
</div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Hi Jon,</div><div><br></div><div>Good idea! Plus, the text you suggest is to the point, short enough but at the same asks significant questions. Since we do have some homework as we need to put together a final report that will be used for sponsors it maybe a good idea to ask for the participants (whether their trip was sponsored or not) for input.</div>
<div><br></div><div>At this point, I wouldn’t change the online form for reimbursement because it’s been like this for a few years now, it collects banking infos and all the like so not the same purpose as comments and appreciations by participants and last, it’s online already and for a short period of time so we can start the reimbursement process asap.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Having said that, I think that the questions you have phrased could well be added to the other form we have to gather such information from the participants and the teams. Femke has already edited it and I leave that up to her to see how she could make use of them!</div>
<div><br></div><div>Cheers!</div><div><br></div><div>Louis</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_extra">
