Hi,

As per Thorsten's request, I have posted the installation instructions at

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_LibreOffice_on_Linux

However, IMHO, the installation instructions should also be included in the
stand-alone Linux downloads, in case the user is offline from the Internet.

I have edited the text to take account of Carl Symons' most-recent comments.

I am uploading the new text in .odt form and in .txt form. I recommend
including the .txt file in the downloadable .tar.gz/.zip archives as a
replacement for the current outdated readme.

The directory names are for the beta 3 and will need editing for the RCs and
the final release. But I don't have the directory names for the RC downloads,
so someone would have to deal with this...

As a general comment, IMHO, there should ALWAYS be standalone downloads for
Linux, even after distribs start to include LibreOffice in their repos, to
*guarantee* that the software is *always* available for all distribs and for
all users...
