I have the German  Version, thats why I do not know the English meanings of the
menu Items.

1) Start LibreOffice
2) Click "Extras" (The one before "Help") ==> Extension Manager
3) Click at "Auf Updates überprüfen" (Search for Updates)
4) During checking, if a new version is available, the button bottom right
shows "Abbrechen" (Abort), but also after it has finished, it do not change to
"Beenden" (Exit)
