An example of an "exported" Base Query

It is common to export tables of data (or queries) from Base to Calc for
subsequent analysis.
By copying and pasting the data, as per
http://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Importing_and_Exporting_Data_in_Base - there
are multiple problems:
1. If the table is very large, the clipboard is too full, and some data is lost
in transfer.
2. The columns export so that each database field translates to multiple
columns in Calc. This may be to ensure that the data fits in the necessary
width, but is an incorrect default. Each field should export to one Calc
column. If necessary, the column widths should increase (but this can be done
manually).
Given flaw 1 - there should be an alternative way to export than simple copy /
paste. But flaw 2 is very irritating.
