I never had the (+) button after importing the XLSX file on LibreOffice 3.4 
340m1(Build:103) for OpenSuse Linux. I do not know if there is a way to set it,
but it doesn't seem like there is a way to display the (+) on Libreoffice. My
only method of showing the hidden columns is if you double click the thick
borders between two non consecutive columns, and if you aimed precisely, you
reveal the hidden column.
