Hello, 

assume I want to open a document with LibreOffice. For example a GIF-File.

So i start LibreOffice, follow the menue File - Open and choose Filetype.
Then i see a list of possible filetypes. 
Scrolling down this list i find ODF - Drawing, DXF, EMF, EPS, ..., SVG, ...,
WMF.
Till this the list seems to be sortet. So - no GIF is there?!
But if i go on scrolling down i see : BMP, GIF,..., XPM. 
Hmm - another sorted list of filetypes. And at the end PCD files follow.

This is the same with other fileformats like textdocuments.

Furthermore the list of fileformats is interrupted by ------- lines. This seems
to be a grouping of filetyps (text, drawing, presentation...) 
Is it possible to name this lines?
And overall is it possible to sort the whole list?
May it would be better do find unique format for each line.
NOT: ODF Textdocument (*.odt)
     Openoffice.org 1.0 drawing (*.sxd)
     GIF  - Grafics Interchange Format (*.gif)

BUT: ---- Text Formats ----
     ODF Textdocument (*.odt)
     ---- Grafic Formats ----
     Grafics Interchange Format (*.gif)
     Openoffice.org 1.0 drawing (*.sxd)

as sorted list.

Overall keep in mind, that e.g. Windows normally doesn't show any file
extensions.
So if one folder hold files like MyGrafik.BMP, MyGrafik.GIF, MyGrafik.JPG,
MyGrafik.PCD, MyGrafik.ODG, MyGrafik.ODT,... it's all the same in the file
Opendialog. Then it is necessary to find the format in the filetype list
quickly.

I hope you understand my broken english. And can comprehend what i mean?
