Summary: open & save dialog box - incomplete for navigation
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.3.0 RC3
Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: blocker
Priority: medium
Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rgloor at glr.ch
In a regular Windows open / save dialog box, on top you have a search in pull
down, where you have a wide array of places to select from, like:
- Last used
- Desktop
- My Documents (Eigene Dateien)
- Workspace (Arbeitsplatz)
- all local drives
- all network mapped drives
- shared documents (Gemeinsame Dokumente)
- Network (Netzwerkumgebung)
- etc.
This gives you almost all options to navigate to a location.
Additionally, other open/save dialog boxes have some icons to the right for
- Last used
- Desktop
- My Documents (Eigene Dateien)
- Workspace (Arbeitsplatz)
- Network (Netzwerkumgebung)
=> Those 2 navigation tools are MISSING in LibreOffice 3.3.0RC3!
(Something must have been in before or I would have realized it before. Was
using LibO since Beta 2).
If the standard path in LibO (working directory) is defined as UNC path (like
\\MyNAS\Share\Documents), you are stuck.
(For some reason, it was taking over the previous path from OpenOffice as UNC.)
You now can only navigate in this directory. Directory up, doesn't bring you
anywhere.
So you can't access other drives, Desktop, and so on through navigation.
THIS is a major problem for most average user, since they usually don't know
UNC pathes, another way to navigate to the Desktop or work arounds to arrive at
their desired file location.
Please include this drop down and eventually the icons to the left enter above
the actual directory content, also .
Attached is a sample as should be:
