It seems the option "mediaplayer" in the tools menu in writer was removed.
However, it is still possible to open the mediaplayer using the sounds gallery.
If you want to close the player, it seems the only way is to open impress and
close it in tools - mediaplayer there. This is very user unfriendly and is
spent quite a while looking for a way to do this.
