Every time I try to launch Calc (be it a new instance or by clicking on a file)
when using a dual-monitor setup (both screens are on), the application crashes
and crashes my session. 

I'm using GNOME 3.0 in fallback mode. Same result when not in fallback mode.
When it crashes, I find myself back at the GDM login screen. 

The solution is to turn off one of the screens, and then it works fine.
