LibreOffice Start Center in a tiling WM

I am using LO 3.4m1 under a tiling window manager (specifically Awesome WM
3.4.6). When LO starts and the Start Centre splash displays, it displays all
torn and stretched. When I go to another window and then back again to LO it
displays fine.

I suspect that the Start Centre doesn't like being resized to full-screen by my
tiling window manager. This does appear to fix itself on the next redraw, since
switching to a different application (hiding the LO window) and back again
solves the problem.
