I discussed with the reporter of this bug. I confirm this bug with 3.4.4
Now the good thing is the bug doesn't appear on master (error messages but no
crash).
And last but not least thing, the commit
b645f9195f4da3014e001fb27b8a117d89c8f389 on master could be cherry picked on
3.4 branch to avoid crash.
Indeed, I tested master branch by reverting just this commit and reproduced the
crash at the same point.
