        OS/Version: All

Hi
I have a CSV file which contains the comma delimited data, here is a sample
line of data;
"  ","Total Sales Commission  ;   ","  ","£54,125.85  ","  "
When I open in CALC, with comma delimited option, the field containing the £
sign is imported as Text only and is not recognised as a numeric field.
Openoffice 3.2.1 does recognise and import the same field above as numeric, as
does MS Excel.
Openoffice 3.3 also does NOT recognise the £ field as numeric
Is there a fix/workaround for this?
I am looking to roll-out LibreOffice to our 80+ desktop pc's but need to
overcome this issue
Thanks in advance
