With LibreOffice 3.4.2 
OOO340m1 (Build:203) on Win 7 (64bit)

Illustration naming and numbering is correct.
References link work correct but order of references is mixed up.

Order is:
Illustration 5,4,3,6

should be:

Illustration 3,4,5,6

LibreOffice 3.4.3 
OOO340m1 (Build:302) on Win 7 (64bit)

Illustration naming correct but numbering is incorrect.
Illustration number is missing in references.
References link work correct but order of references is mixed up.
