[Reproducible] with reporter#s sample and Parallel Dev-Installation of 
"LibreOffice 3.5.0 Beta3- WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [Build-ID:
e40af8c-10029e3-615e522-88673a2-727f724]. In the first picture "turbine blades"
are arranged parallel instead of radial. Looks perfect with with "LibreOffice
Portable 3.3.0  - WIN7  Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag
libreoffice-3.3.0.4]" , OOo 3.3, MS WORD Viewer.

I wonder what kind of pictures that are. Embedded SVG?

I did a test with 3.5.0Beta3:
1. opened sample document with 3.3.0
2. saved as .odt, closed, reopened.
3. Copied the picture to a new blank mytest.odt, saved that as mytest.odt and 
   as mytest.doc, Copied the picture to a new blank mytest.odg and saved 
4. closed all documents
5. reopened all new documents.
   > In mytest.odt and mytest.odg "turbine" looks fine
   > in mytest.doc the "turbine blades" are cress-cross (opened in 3.3.0, too!)

When did problem appear?

Still looks fine for me with LibreOffice 3.4.1 RC OOO340m1 (Build:101) and
 LibreOffice 3.4.2 RC1   and
Master from July 2011

What do you know concerning origin of picture? really svg?
