Thanks for pointing to this possibility. It's interesting for texts and I share
your opinion that this should be the default. 

However, this does not work for spreadsheets, at least with my current version
of LibreOffice (3.4.4). If you download the minimal example above and make it a
read-only file, can you really select something from the input line ? I can't.
