Thank you, Julien, for your quick reaction. As I'm not a computing expert it
took me a little longer to collect my answers to your questions:

- MacOs version: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)

- Libreoffice version: LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 
Build-ID: 165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18

- Java version: 14.3.0

- do you use any specific extension ? : No

- could you attach the file ? The file I used when the crash appeared
repeatedly could not be added (too large to add as attachment, although only
with a few data samples; the file should have been much smaller than it is
after I deleted several hundred data sets for the test file?!?). I try to send
it by mail.

- do you have accessibility ? No
