I followed the exact steps with the exact same version of LibreOffice and had
no trouble saving documents. I could not reproduce the problem.

Where were you trying to save it? Judging by the screenshot, there was some
kind of I/O error (e.g. drive was read only, file was locked, network drive was
down etc etc). Possibly not a problem with LibreOffice as such.
