Results of a first quick test:
Currently I can't see anything what I would really call a bug. But the
interpreter is very picky: for formatting '"YYYY-MM-DD" an input "MM-DD" will
not be accepted. That might be correct, I am not sure whether "MM-DD" is a date
confirming to German standards (I used German loc. for that test).
Exactly following the selected date formatting with the input will be accepted
as a date.
We will have to distinguish:
a) does the date recognition work correct? My quick test seems to say "yes",
I did not find a real "bug"
b) is that already optimum useful? I do not thing so. A cell formatted
"YY-MM-DD"
should accept an input "12-31" and complete it to date "12-12-31"
@Eike:
Is there already a test proceeding for such us-advise fine tuning? If not, we
will have to create sample documents (for all localizations) with examples
where practical work might need exceptions from total correctness in favor of
usability?
