So probably the steps to reproduce are:

1. Uninstall Visual C++ 9.0 runtimes (Visual Studio 2008).
2. Install LibreOffice 3.5.1

This problem is more often reproduced in 64 bits systems because they don't
have the 32 bits one installed by default (the ones needed by LibreOffice).
