Thanks for explanation of problem:
For different formulas we need slightly different formatting. In result styles
not helps very much, because too many styles needed. We needed some automation
of formulas formatting.

May be such functionality already exist among extensions for OpenOffice or
LibreOffice.
PS: for copying styles from one document to another: File->Templates->Organize,
then in dialog window choose "document" on bottom, source and target documents
at top, double click documents for styles appear, drag and drop styles
