Cannot reproduce the problem.  With a recent (Linux) libreoffice-3-5-3 build,
the attached example1.oxt changes "Tools - Options... - LibreOffice - Paths -
My Documents" to "/foo/bar/work" (becomes active only after restart), and adds
"/foo/bar/tmpl" as default path for new files to "Tools - Options... -
LibreOffice - Paths - Templates".
