This issue has been noted since 2012. It is now more than 7 years later and a
solution still has not been implemented. Meanwhile, not only is Excel at 16k
columns, but even WPS Spreadsheet also has 16384 columns. 

Meanwhile user like myself have had numerous times when this issue becomes a
problem. 

I would be happy to be a beta test user when you get to that stage. Thanks.
