This would definitely be an improvement, it might be even better though if it
looks slightly different from regular selected text. Why? Because we might want
to preserve the visual difference between Drop Caps and regular text.

I'm pretty certain that there exist other functionalities which create similar
environments to the Drop Caps one. (i just can't remember which actions created
those environments)
Highlighted text in those places might also stay gray, just like it does when
highlighting Drop Caps-text.
