I should mention this is not a new issue - I've experienced this (at least
effects 1 and 3) when working with Impress for many years back. And (1.) is
just a misfeature, really.

As for (2.), I can't seem to reproduce it with 6.4 . I'm not even 100% sure
that it's the resizing-to-fit that's the necessary trigger.
