Note that the LibreOffice codebase is even worse in its choice of names, it
uses the term "Aqua" in identifiers as if Aqua was some API. Maybe it was a
name loosely used at some point in time in the history of macOS, but it sure
hasn't been an API name a long time. If one searches for "aqua" in Xcode's
Developer Documentation, nothing is found.

If one searches for "carbon", it does show some legacy APIs that Apple
classifies as being "Carbon", but the functions listed as part of "Carbon Core"
don't look familiar at all. And they seem to have been obsoleted since a long
time, and we do have warnings for obsolete APIs turned on, so I think I can say
with reasonable confidence that no, we don't use "Carbon". If somebody has
concrete counter-evidence I am prepared to change that opinion, of course.
