Since you seem to be an expert in software dev, I suppose you can find a fix in
just 1 day, the time to retrieve sources, build them, find the pb in the code
and propose a fix on gerrit.

About MsOffice, you can try
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/install-use-microsoft-office-linux/ or buy a
license of Win10 and make a dualboot with Ubuntu.
