When I replace in above-mentioned query "Rechnung_Bericht" the identifier
    "Straße"
with
    "Strasse",
the crash does not happen.

The root cause however (Unicode in LO, Unicode in Basic, Unicode in HSQLDB ?)
remains unknown.
