            Bug ID: 144929
Summary: the new "document saved" icon and its ambiguous use
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.2.1.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jepe at cspv.hu

hi,

I've tried Lo7, and although I was happy with the good visibility of the new
(downward arrow) "document saved" icon, I was also disappointed by its new
location (moved from the center of the status bar to the left corner)...

suggestion: it could be moved back to the center, or customizable...

about the left corner:
the man menu is there... (usually / traditionally), and when we most of the
times look there, we are ready to deal with something outside the program / app
we're working in...

problem #2:

the downward green arrow suggests a local copy being the same (in sync) with a
file in the cloud...

now, this is a totally false context..
and as such it is already a bad solution...

let's remember, HTML5 is a new era i which everything should look what it is,
that is, the appearance should reflect the functionality clearly and
transparently..

the question is NOT whether of nor someone might think that her or his document
is being synced to the cloud, but whether or not a downward green arrow means
in today's language being synced to a cloud (server) ...

a green asterix would be way better, for example....
or a green asterix next to a document symbol
