Hello Caolan, Rainer,

the problem is not that I don't know which bugs are assigned to Kohei but that if a bug is assigned to someone and the status is set to ASSIGNED you can no longer be sure that the person hasn't started working on this bug. So in the end to be sure that no one is working on it you have always to ask back if it is still open. Secondly we have several older bugs that are ASSIGNED by our QA people but we had no time to work on them yet.

The idea with leaving the status set as NEW was that every bug having this state is open and you can work on it. You should set the status to ASSIGNED and everyone knows that someone takes care of the bug. And in the end I hope that this step will help us to clear our bugs a bit up. It would allow us to concentrate on bugs that have status NEW. At the moment you'va always to check for ASSIGEND to because an important bug might be assigned but not yet worked on.
Hi Caolán,

thank you for feedback. Currently I believe your "plan b" might find more acceptance and seems to be a logical further development of Markus' proposal.

I'm not an expert concerning Bugzilla properties settings, I only know how to get ALL mails (due to the settings) of the followed one, what might be too much. Preferable would be a solution that only follows mails with status=New - assignee=default, but I do not know how to do that with bugzilla settings.

Kind regards
