Luckily this is not the case - I've just tried, the user can remove the
icon from his / her desktop, ie. we should be fine.

I have just tried, and reinstalled my Firefox; 14.0.1 _does_ install the
desktop link, and does not even have the possibility to disable this
during the installation process.  The only checkbox that was there
during the "Standard" installation was whether Firefox should be the
default browser; checked 'yes' by default.

So I believe we behave more friendly than most, that we offer to disable
this during installation :-)
