[Libreoffice-ux-advise] named and automatic format merging

Hello

I wonder, is there a reason why named character formats are merge with
automatic character formats and it's not the case with paragraph
formats.

For example, select a portion of paragraph and put it in bold then apply
a named character format ("Internet Link" for example) to the same
portion.
The text remain in bold, named character format is merge with the
automatic character format (bold).

Select a whole paragraph and put it in bold then apply a named paragraph
format ("Default" for example) to this paragraph.
The text isn't in bold anymore, the named paragraph format erase the
automatic paragraph format (bold).
