If in the future there are content panels that go beyond a fixed width that was
set, a new fixed size could be implemented. Users rolling their own content
panels is something that sounds nice but is never going to be implemented. Do
you know of any other applications that allow users to change sidebar content
panels, as i've never seen any.

If the sidebar was simply a list of buttons that were easily saved into an XML
file, then it would be simple and convenient to customize, but it isnt. The
panels are designed in glade (i'm assuming) and function with dev code running
behind it.
