OK. So, "name box", not "name field". And this is a field, not a column
dropdown like in the Sort dialog. We've cleared that out. 

The first link in your comment somehow ends up leading to a Writer help page. 

The distinction between the two types of named ranges... or, better, the FACT
that there are two types of named ranges is even more confusing from an end
user perspective. In any case I don't see how it applies to this issue. The
existence of different types of ranges is irrelevant to the fact that Calc
doesn't tell me that I'm inadvertently using one of them.
