            Bug ID: 147973
Summary: Special character preview control: Show the font’s
                    baseline
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: fitojb at ubuntu.com
                CC: libreoffice-ux-advise at lists.freedesktop.org
            Blocks: 109232

The font’s baseline should be displayed underlying the current character’s
preview, to see where the inserted character will sit on the line of text.

This baseline could be drawn semi-transparently, using the highlight color
(please no black/white), as it shouldn’t visually compete with the previewed
character itself.
