I think that it can also be helpful when using LO itself get a text
description, just the same as it can be used with HTML or PDF.

I tend towards the second option, once it's clear what the expected behavior
is. (I think something like "At present, this is only exported for Images,
there's bug 149013 for other formats" or somesuch might be helpful to keep
track of this?)

Depending on where the discussion goes, I think Christophe's comment 1 could be
an answer here:

-> "description" is supposed to be used for a more detailed description of the
image if a "short summary" in the "Text Alternative" field doesn't cover all
relevant information?
