We discussed this topic in the design meeting.

The actual request comes probably from the the fact that MSO has no exit
function. It requires every open document to be closed individually - and after
the last document is closed the application terminates. We do the same with
ctrl+W or alt+F4. But additionally provide a function to exit quickly. And
while the popup confirmation sounds reasonable it's a different situation when
documents are not saved and another confirmation requires input. 

So we recommend to not change the behavior.
