I would prefer the favorites solution from bug 38742. It would be set via start
center and make those items appear on top.

However, sorting the remaining list either by the last usage (which is what
"recently used" means) or alphanumeric is doable yet would be an expert option.
Don't think many users would change the setting and maybe a macro run on start
or exit is better suited.
