And then zooming in will reduce it back to a few pixels, in less than 2
seconds. Please let me know whether I should attach an additional screenshot,
but instead of 100% and 400%, using 20% or 10% this time.

As I said already, you can always take any zoom factor and keep zooming out
(i.e. using a lower zoom factor) up to a point where you will inevitably find
an inconvenience. No matter the kind of indicator or any artifact whatsoever,
it *will* "bother" you to clearly read the cell's content at lower zoom
factors. But the opposite is also true. If someone is using a zoom factor of
20%, just increase the zoom factor and the inconvenience will go away.

A small zoom factor allows users to see more cells, which is sometimes
necessary, but it won't allow the same user to see more details simultaneously.
That's just not possible, not simultaneously. Either you zoom in to see more
details (or more cell's content/text, more clearly), or otherwise you zoom out
to see more area/relations/big picture.

You cannot read Liberation Sans/Mono 10pt font in an A4 or Letter page size
from either a ridiculously long or ridiculously short distance; you have to be
at an adequate reading distance.

To anyone saying "I cannot read the content of the cell when I use 10% zoom", I
say, change the zoom until you can. Then, if you want to go back to 10% zoom,
just go for it. It will take you about 6 seconds (or less), with either 2
fingers of one hand, or one hand on your keyboard and the other on your mouse's
wheel.
